How Holidays Affect Fund Pricing
When a stock exchange closes due to a national holiday or unforeseen events, it directly impacts the trading of mutual funds.
For example, if it is a public holiday in the country where a fund is registered, or in the primary market where the fund invests (such as Japan for the Quartal Japan Fund), no Net Asset Value (NAV) price will be calculated for the fund on that day. Quartal’s funds are primarily registered in Sweden, Finland, or Luxembourg.
Upcoming Non-Pricing Dates
The following Quartal funds will not be priced on these specific dates due to international market closures:
April 29 and April 30:
- Quartal Japan Fund
- Quartal Japanese Sustainable Enhanced
May 1:
- Quartal Nordic Equity Fund
- Quartal Nordic Sustainable Stars
- Quartal Swedish Sustainable Enhanced
Note: On May 1, all Quartal funds are closed for trading due to the European public holiday.
How Your Orders Are Handled
If a fund is not priced on a specific day, you can still register a buy or sell order in the online bank. However, the execution of the order will be postponed. Your transaction will be completed at the NAV price set on the next available banking day.
This rule applies to all forms of trading, including direct savings, monthly transfers, and transactions within pension and insurance wrappers.
Half Days in Sweden
For funds registered in Sweden, trading may be affected on the day preceding a major Swedish holiday. On these “half days,” buy and sell orders must be registered before 12:00 noon local time. Orders submitted after the cut-off time will be executed at the following full banking day’s price.
