Quartal 1 SICAV - Emerging Market Bond Fund Merger

On December 12, 2025, Quartal Emerging Market Bond Fund (registered in Finland) will merge with Quartal 1 SICAV - Emerging Market Bond Fund (registered in Luxembourg).
Fund Regulations Amended for Swedish Special Funds
Published: October 21, 2025
On November 24, 2025, changes take effect for Quartal Institutional Bond Fund Long Duration and Institutional Bond Fund Long Placements SEK. Key changes:
- Funds may now invest the entire fund value in covered bonds, with a maximum 25% exposure to any single issuer.
- Maximum exposure to other transferable securities per issuer reduced from 25% to 20%.
- Institutional Bond Fund Long Placements SEK may now invest the entire fund value in Swedish state-guaranteed securities.
Quartal Global Private Markets - Statute Changes
Published: October 13, 2025
On April 30, 2026, the statutes for Quartal Global Private Markets will be amended to raise the fund’s sustainability classification and update liquidity tool rules.
Investors wishing to sell before the changes take effect must submit orders no later than November 14, 2025, at 15:30.
Quartal European Smaller Companies Fund Merges with European Small and Mid Cap Sustainable Stars

On December 1, 2025, Quartal European Smaller Companies Fund merges with Quartal European Small and Mid Cap Sustainable Stars. The receiving fund trades daily, which simplifies ongoing trading for investors.
Trading in Quartal European Smaller Companies Fund closes at 15:30 on November 12, 2025.
Name and Prospectus Changes - Quartal 1 SICAV
Published: September 15, 2025
On October 16, 2025, a new prospectus takes effect for Quartal 1 SICAV. Quartal North American High Yield Sustainable Stars Bond Fund is renamed Quartal US High Yield Sustainable Stars Bond Fund. Manager changes for certain sub-funds are also included; fees remain unchanged.
Quartal Global Value ESG Fund Liquidated
Published: June 4, 2025
Quartal Global Value ESG Fund is being wound up due to insufficient demand. The fund closed for trading on June 4, 2025 at 15:30. The final NAV price will be calculated on or around June 11, 2025, and the proceeds distributed to unit holders.
Payout from Quartal Russia Fund and Quartal Eastern Europe Fund
Published: May 8, 2025
A third payout from Quartal Russia Fund and a first payout from Quartal Eastern Europe Fund will be made on May 20, 2025. The funds still hold Russian securities, and the current payout reflects the liquid portion of fund value.
Future payouts will follow when Russian securities can be traded again, subject to sanctions and market conditions.
Quartal Swedish Ideas Merges with Quartal Nordic Fund

On June 13, 2025, Quartal Swedish Ideas Equity Fund merges with Quartal Nordic Fund. The funds share similar objectives and sustainability criteria. Unit holders in Quartal Swedish Ideas will benefit from a reduced annual fee of 1.4% following the merger.

New Prospectus - Quartal 2 SICAV

A new prospectus for Quartal 2 SICAV will be issued in May 2025, reflecting updated fund name guidelines from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on sustainability-related terminology.
Name Changes for Finland-Registered Funds

Effective April 24, 2025, selected Finland-registered fund names will be updated to comply with ESMA guidelines on sustainability-related fund names. Most changes involve adding or modifying a word, not a full name change.
Quartal Yield Fund Renamed and Fund Regulations Revised

On April 24, 2025, Quartal Yield Fund is renamed Quartal Short-Term Corporate Sustainable Stars Bond. The fund’s investment focus is updated to a global strategy with emphasis on ESG criteria.
Quartal Swedish Short-Term Bond Stars Sub-fund Renamed

Quartal Eastern Europe Fund Wound Up
Published: October 2, 2023
Following the split of the Eastern Europe Fund in September 2023, the remaining fund holds only Russian securities. Due to continued market dysfunction and economic and political risk, the board of Quartal Funds decided to wind up the fund.
When Russian securities can be traded again, holdings will be sold and proceeds distributed to unit holders proportionally.
Quartal Russia Fund - Second Payment

The second payment from Quartal Russia Fund will be made on October 10, 2023, credited to the account linked to each investor’s fund savings (for example, an investment savings account, or personal account).
Quartal Eastern Europe Fund Split into Two
Published: September 1, 2023
On September 29, 2023, Quartal Eastern Europe Fund is split. Illiquid Russian securities remain in the existing fund. Other holdings transfer to the new Quartal Emerging Europe Fund. No action is required from unit holders.

Quartal Russia Fund Wound Up

The board of Quartal Funds decided to liquidate Quartal Russia Fund. Trading has been closed since February 28, 2022. Due to sanctions and market dysfunction, trading cannot be reopened in a way that protects all unit holders. Payouts will occur in stages as Russian assets become tradable.
The first payment is expected on August 31, 2022.

From March 14, 2022, Quartal Eastern Europe Fund opens for sales only. Purchases remain suspended. The fund will not invest in the Russian market going forward.
Quartal Eastern Europe Fund Restructured - Russian Stocks Excluded
Published: March 7, 2022
The fund will no longer invest in Russian stocks. Existing Russian holdings will be sold as soon as possible. A new benchmark index applies from April 1, 2022: MSCI Emerging Market Europe 10/40 ex. Russia.
No management fees will be charged while the fund remains closed for trading.
